A Spiritual Recovery Modality from Serenity Peak Retreats

PEAK stands for:
Presence – Elevation – Alignment – Knowing

What Is the PEAK Process?

The PEAK Process is Serenity Peak Retreats’s signature spiritual modality—a transformative framework designed to guide individuals toward personal clarity, inner peace, and embodied recovery through non-clinical, holistic practices. It is not a treatment method or therapeutic protocol; it is a sacred journey of reconnection—to the body, the breath, the earth, and the spirit.

The Four Pillars of the PEAK Process

Each phase of the PEAK Process is rooted in intention and supported by a variety of guided experiences, reflective journaling, somatic rituals, and nature-based practices—all integrated with the foundational principles of 12-step recovery.

P – Presence

Begin Where You Are

In this foundational phase, participants ground into their bodies and begin learning how to observe without judgment. Presence invites stillness, listening, and trust in the moment. Tools may include:

  • Mindfulness meditation
  • Restorative yoga and breath awareness
  • Nature walks and grounding rituals
  • Journal reflections inspired by Step 1: surrendering control

This phase is about gently grounding into the body, quieting the mind, and becoming fully present—creating the internal space needed for healing to unfold.

E – Elevation

Energy in Motion

Elevation gently activates the body’s energy to support the release of emotional residue and stagnant patterns. Through breath, movement, and focused intention, guests begin to feel more alive and aligned. Modalities may include:

  • Somatic breathwork
  • Reiki and acupuncture
  • Sauna + cold plunge contrast therapy
  • Journaling alongside Steps 2 and 3: belief and decision

This phase creates emotional and physical movement, increasing neuroplasticity in the brain, preparing the mind and body for alignment and a shift into conscious self-support.

A – Alignment

Live from the Inside Out

Here, guests begin to identify what truly matters to them. They explore their personal values, reconnect with intuition, and align daily actions with their inner compass. Alignment fosters integrity, clarity, and emotional regulation. Practices may include:

  • Values mapping and intention setting
  • Yoga flows that focus on balance and heart-opening
  • Shadow integration and service in silence
  • Journal reflections aligned with Steps 4–7: inventory and release

This phase helps participants live with intention and self-trust.

K – Knowing

Embodying the Shift

In the final phase, participants at our California recovery retreat begin to embody the spiritual and energetic changes they’ve made. They reconnect with personal truth, craft daily rituals, and envision what life in ongoing recovery can look and feel like. Experiences may include:

  • Future-self visualization and creative mapping
  • Closing breathwork ceremonies
  • Creation of personalized PEAK rituals for post-retreat life
  • Reflections on Steps 8–12: amends, service, and continued spiritual practice

This phase is a return to inner wisdom. It helps guests at our West Coast wellness retreat build a sustainable relationship with recovery, anchored in soul-led action.

It is not linear, and it’s not about perfection. It’s about presence, transformation, and inner knowing.

The PEAK Workbook

To support the journey, each participant receives the PEAK Process Workbook—a spiritual integration guide filled with reflections, journal prompts, experiential practices, and morning rituals based on 12-step principles.

Who the PEAK Process Is For

This process is ideal for those who:

  • Are exploring recovery from a spiritual or soul-centered perspective
  • Seek holistic support outside of clinical treatment
  • Crave reconnection to their body, intuition, and higher self
  • Are open to practices like breathwork, sound healing, nature immersion, and energetic rituals
  • Are looking to deepen the spiritual dimension of a 12-step immersion retreat

Why PEAK?

We chose the name PEAK not only because of our serene mountain setting, but because each stage invites a climb—a rising into truth, resilience, and spiritual sovereignty. But it’s not about staying at the top. It’s about learning to walk all of life’s terrain—low or high—with presence, peace, purpose, and recovery.
